This dessert is very simple, since it simply combines strawberries with wine gelatin, and it’s also possible to prepare it with other red fruits. It is not only very simple but also very elegant, thanks to the touch of flavor and color that rosé wine adds. Additionally, the use of xylitol instead of sugar makes this dessert “keto friendly.”
Ingredients:
250 gr. of strawberries
500 ml of rosé wine
3 gelatin sheets
4-5 teaspoons of xylitol
Optionally:
Some mint leaves to decorate
Wash and cut the strawberries. Place them in the individual molds that we will used to serve.
Hydrate the gelatin sheets and set aside.
Heat the wine and sweetener in a saucepan, stirring to dissolve. Optionally, it is possible to flavor with lemon and/or orange peel, mint leaves, etc. Let it boil for a few minutes so that the alcohol evaporates.
Press the gelatin sheets to get rid of excess water and add them to the wine. Stir until dissolved and then fill the molds with this preparation.
Set the molds aside and when they have cooled, keep them in the refrigerator for a few hours, ideally until the next day.
When serving, decorate with some mint leaves. The strawberries in wine gelatin should be ideally very cold, so enjoy right after taking them out from the fridge.
Tips and tricks:
- In order to get a keto friendly dessert, it is necessary to use a rather dry wine. The recipe works equally well with white or red wine. But in the last case, then you have to be especially careful with the choice of the red wine, since purple grapes naturally contain more sugars than blonde ones.
